Do I need an appointment for an immigration medical exam?

Can I get my X-ray and blood test on the same day as my medical?
Not always. Appointments are on Saturdays, and weekend availability at the X-ray and lab locations is limited and can change. Please plan to complete these on a weekday (Monday to Friday) in Kamloops. If you live out of town, please consider this before booking.
Do I need an interpreter?
There are medical questions you are required to answer. If your English level is not sufficient, you will need an interpreter. This person can be a friend, a relative of the applicant or any other person older than 18 years of age. You can also contact a local interpretation service.
Using google translate will not be accepted.
What should I bring to my immigration medical exam?
Please bring:
- A valid government-issued ID (passport or driver’s license)
- Any IRCC medical forms or letters
- Your eyeglasses or contact lenses (if applicable)
- A list of medications you are currently taking
Can I use an ID other than a passport?
IRCC strongly prefers that applicants submit passports
Other approved identification documents include the following:
- Canadian national ID card
- driver’s licence (Drivers licenses will be accepted as valid identification only if issued by Canada)
- refugee travel document
How long does the immigration medical exam take?
The exam usually takes about 30-40 minutes.
When will my medical exam results be sent to IRCC?
Your results are typically sent to IRCC within 5 to 10 business days. Processing times may vary depending on test results.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Our clinic operates by appointment only. You can check what’s available online and book your appointment there.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, please note that the $100 deposit is non-refundable. To reschedule without loosing your deposit, please contact the clinic at least 48 hours before your appointment.

If you have been notified by IRCC that a furtherance is needed, please contact the office by telephone or email to arrange follow-up.
Finding the clinic
Medical Office – Unit 204, 1800 Tranquille Road (Brock Shopping Centre)
The clinic is in the freestanding building in the middle of the Brock Shopping Centre parking lot, opposite Save-On-Foods and Shoppers Drug Mart. Go up the outside staircase to the second floor. The entrance door is marked “Medical Office.”
